Kirill Klepalov is a Russian cinematographer and director known for his work across auteur cinema, television series, commercials, music videos, and concert films. His filmography includes Yuri Bykov’s The Major and The Fool, the series Olga, the feature comedy I’m Losing Weight, Tolya the Robot, Family Budget, Combination, as well as his directing work on Poplar Fluff and Choose Me.
Klepalov gained international recognition with The Major and The Fool. The Major was selected for Festival de Cannes and won three awards at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The Fool was presented at Film Festival Locarno, Busan International Film Festival, New Directors New Films, and won the Grand Prize, Young Jury Prize, and Best Cinematography at Les Arcs European Film Festival.
Open to visual experimentation and fluent across genres, Klepalov treats each project as an opportunity to find a distinct cinematic language, balancing technical precision with instinctive visual storytelling.
